As the title says. Want to buy a Hypertech Programmer for a 96 F Body. According the Hypertech the part# is 30027 and that model is good for model years 96-97.

I would want some sort of proof that the programming has been removed and the programmer is "unlocked."

You can email me at sjhorsch@sbcglobal.net

Thanks

Another option is to have someone re-program the car for you.

I am willing to re-program your car on my next tuning trip to Wichita this summer. If you're in a hurry, you can always drive to Topeka and I can do it here. LT1 OBD2 cars are $175. Nothing like real datalogging with your car to make specific adjustments to your PCM file.

The Hypercrap is not the best. The power program they use is generic and you are stuck with what all they edited in the file, (sans: fans, tire size, minor stuff, etc).

Also, if anyone has a Hypercrap programmer that needs it returned to (hypertech) stock, (it''s VIN locked) I can do that too. Then you can sell the Hypertech on ebay and pay for a custom tune. End cost = zero

how much to unlock a hypertech?

I saw one on ebay and i can probably get it pretty cheap.

I mainly wanted it so I can play with shift points, shift firmness and the fans.

I may take u up on the tuning. On a pretty much stock car, can you expect many gains?

yes, u can. I'll speak for anthony, he does awesome work, he tuned my car.
As far as shift firmness - you can adjust the line pressures to make it shift hard and fast, and he can adjust ur fan tunon, and play with your fuel ratio to get it right on instead of "close" like many places will do.
Id highly recommend him over a hypercrap

I got to tune/datalog with Ream04 Camaro and another F-body cars for 9 hours last week. We had a good time. Like I said, the Hypercrap is not worth a penny after seeing what all can be done with Tunercat OBD1 or OBD2, and HP Tuner software.
I'll make you a deal. You bring me the car, let me show you some things and if you are not COMPLETELY satisfied, I'll return it all back to stock. I'll even buy you lunch. I just hate to see anyone spend $$ on a hand held tuner. Surely some of the other F/B/Y-Body programmers will agree/chime in.

$50 to unlock a Hypertech.

Well b4 I have a tune done, I just as well knock 2 birds out with one stone, pardon the cliche.

I have been wanting for some time now to have the 2 cats removed. You dont have to say who or where publicly. But if you know of a place that will do it pm me or send me an email through here.

Then I can have the tune done where you delete the 02 sensors from the computer.

the o2s should stay... you need them to get the a/f ratio right... i think they are before cats on your car anyway
