Check for debris between the condenser and radiator. Might also verify a rad hose isn't collapsing.

Does it have electric fans? If so are they coming on and turning the right direction. And make sure that you do not have the wrong water pump, that is about the year when the went to a reverse rotation pump.

Check your fan.If it is not comming on it could be a fan relay, temp switch,or fan.

When does it overheat? Setting in traffic, driving through town, driving on the highway? Need more details......

Then go back and figure out what is the same now compared to then. Sounds like you have a dirty radiator or something. I have had really bad luck with Oreillys thermostats. I stopped buying em from them, they suck. Stick open stick closed open way high, all kinds of crap.

Its cheap enough to check every thing that they have mentioned I would pay close attention to the fan relays and coolant sensor!!!
